As someone relatively new to journaling, I never understood the appeal of letter sets until I saw this particular clear stamp set being used to create Christmas cards. Most letter stamps come across as so harsh and bold to me, so I never bought any. Then I saw this, and I love that it is inspired by embroidery. While this set has been designed for Christmas cards, this is something that can be used year round. After all, how many of us have seen the old timey quote stitch samplers our ancestors or their neighbors made? We have all, even if we have to visit a museum to see it. To know that I can now recreate that in my scrapbooks give me great delight. (I might not be able to sew, but I can stamp letters and quotes into my journals!) The great thing about scrapbooking is that while products may be made with one specific thing in mind, if you let your imagination go, you can use nearly anything for everything, and this is an example of that. It may have been just for Christmas inspired whimsy, but you can use it for many other purposes once you detach the specific label from the product. The non-letery parts have lace designs and snowflakes and can be used for wintery or texture backgrounds on a variety of projects.
